Outdoor BootCamp Basics

  1. WEATHER DEPENDENT
If the weather is just too awful to exercise in, you will receive an email one hour before your scheduled class. If you are unsure or do not receive an email, please don't hesitate to text your instructor. But we will work out if the rain is not to heavy or the ground is not too wet, so be prepared!

  2. GET A PAIR OF GLOVES
These are a must. You will be down on your hands in the grass, in the dirt, on the sidewalks, on the stairs. The instructors do not want to hear about how your tender little paws are hurting from the gravel or rocks or cement.

  3. EAT BEFORE CLASS
Passing out is not tolerated nor recommended. Please eat something that is easily digestible approximately one hour before class. After class, eating something with protein within 45 minutes is important for recovery.

  4. IF YOU HAVE A HEART RATE MONITOR, BRING IT AND WEAR IT
They are great tools to keep track of how hard you are working.

  5. RUNNING IS REQUIRED
Running is a big part of these classes. You will not run long distances, but you will run from one location in the park to another. There will also be sprinting, suicides and running up and down hills. If you have issues with running, then this is probably not the boot camp for you.

  6. BRING A WATER BOTTLE AND SWEAT TOWEL
Not exercising due to dehydration is unacceptable. DO NOT forget water. And having a towel to wipe your sweat will help keep you cool, too.

  7. WHAT ELSE SHOULD YOU BRING
The instructor will have a back pack with them and will carry your keys, wallets and phones, but nothing else. You are responsible for anything else you bring, so do not bring iPads, laptops, wads of cash, the family jewels, etc.

  8. YOU WILL GET A BIT DIRTY
Comfortable, moisture-wicking attire is recommended. But you will get dirty and sweaty, so leave your fancy workout clothes at home.

4 person class minimum

12 hour cancellation policy. Weather dependent. Classes are 60 min.
We meet up in various locations in Brooklyn Bridge Park. Locations are listed on the schedule.
